I found some photos from August of 1998 of the backyard LGB layout my Dad set up.He ran the trains every night in the Summer on this layout for 22 years.He loved running these trains every year.
Very neat pictures! I could see how someone would love running trains in the backyard like that.
In the second picture, it looks like the track is on a base. Any idea what that may have been made out of? Eventually I would like to build something similar in our yard, and am always looking for tips.
I don't know what material the base is in the photos.He went to some kind of concrete sheets he cut to size for the base.That is what is still in the backyard.It held up for about fifteen years,but is deteriorating bad now.
