I just built a new small size layout for under our Christmas Tree this year.  I have Fastbacks all the way around a oval track.  It's powered by a Lionel 180 Power Brick run threw a TPC-300 then to the track. Run with a TMCC.   Had no problem running it with the 9 Christmas cars I had hooked up to my Diesel Santa Fe Switcher.  My wife bought me 3 new Christmas Display Box Cars that have moving & lighted scenes in them.  I hooked them up and ran them for about 5 minutes.  I smelled like something was very "HOT"!!!  I stopped it.  Then tried restarting it.  Found that I had a in-line Fast Blow Fuse out.  I replaced the fuse.  I ran it for just a short time and removed the cars and oiled the wheels.  I am going to try them again in the AM.  The new box cars have switches on the bottoms of them to turn them off.  I just might turn one or two of them off and see what happens.  Has anyone else had this problem???   Could it be to much of a overload???   Or another problem???  Thanks TT

gunrunnerjohn---I tried one at a time this morning.  Was able to run all three without and smell.  Don't know if the motors that are in these cars that move the scenes around needed to be broke in or what the story is with them???  They seem to run fine now.  Time will tell.  Thanks TTOriginally Posted by gunrunnerjohn:

Hard to believe this is overcurrent.

Take them all off.  Then, one at a time, put one on and test.
