How to I create a pointer that I can email to someone that takes the person the exact post within a thread that I want for them to see?  For instance, in Scott's weekly photo fun thread, if there is a particular entry within it that I want for someone to see how to I do that?  The only way that I know is to capture the thread's URL and send it and try to describe which post to look at once the thread is open.

I am sure there's a way to send the exact post pointer since in the ALERTS where it shows who liked my post when I click on any one of them it takes me to my exact post, not the beginning of the thread.

As always, thanks - walt

This tends to come up from time to time.   Unfortunately the solution/capability is hard to search for until you know the solution is called Permalink.   link 1 link2 link3

It's veja-du all over again .

I'm guessing the very old request Rich said he was going to inquire about regarding changing the text for "Permalink" to "Link this post" was denied.  Shame, since that's much more intuitive.

It wasn't "denied." They just never took any action on it. In fact, now that you mention it,  I don't recall hearing anything about it one way or the other.

I posted the suggestion again just now with Hoopla...er...I mean Crowdstack Tech Support.
