Heh. What country? Personally, I always thought those New Englanders were from another planet altogether!

Can you say "Photoshopped"? Lechmere (pronounced "Leech-mere") was one of my favorite MBTA stops when I was a kid. If I recall correctly there was a huge Sears (?) building at the end of the line, which was something of a famous destination for riders.
I thought this "T" stop was closed years ago, along with the retailer, but it just came up on a (very) quick web search.

photoshopped, you say? Sadly, my Skept-O-Meter was turned off that day

Well, it still was a fun photo and certainly of a "random" trolley .

BTW, the store at the end of the Lechmere line was not a Sears, it too was called Lechmere. ANd it WAS a destination, known throughout New England.

Bruce,
Thanks for the correction. As I recall, the building was so tall and iconic that it could even be seen from the highway heading west out of Boston.

Pictures of the trolley depot in Saratoga Springs, New York are hard to come by. So far, I have found these. Are there any more out there??
The depot still stands as the Visitors Center in Saratoga. Only the tracks are gone.
The cars in the pictures belong to the Schenectady Railway Company and the Hudson Valley Railway Company.
This view is the backside of the trolley depot which is now the Visitor's Center. Trolley cars once parked under these shed roofs.
Bobby OG, what a great postcard and photos! I can't locate my (modern) interior shots of the Saratoga Springs station in its incarnation as the visitor's center. But, when I do, I'll post them.

Tomlinson Run Railroad,
My wife & I often stay at the Springs Motel on McDonald Alley & Rt 50 in Saratoga. This is just two blocks away from the Visitor's Center, so this is the reason of my interest. There is lots on Google about the Schenectady Railway, the Hudson Valley Railway and Kadeross Railway which all ran from the depot (Visitor's Center) in Saratoga.

Los Angeles. The color combination on the LA cars is not appealing. The orange is a good choice for visibility of the cars, but the olive green is an ugly choice. I wonder what the designer was thinking?
Trolley cars in lake George, ny
I am going out on a limb here. It's my opinion that more Connecticut Company trolley cars have been saved and preserved than any other company's trolley cars. Why is this?

Humm ... a false start perhaps? I see no photos.

Well, ya got two trolley museums (Branford and Warehouse Point) in CT proper; indeed, Branford operates part of the former CT Co. track!

193 and 775 are the same car. It was backdated to its original number and details while I was an active operator there. I've run the car in both configurations.
As for the question, it may be that the Shore Line Trolley Museum was one of the first streetcar museums, getting its start while streetcars were still running (albeit dwindling in number). The line was even connected to the functioning ConnCo network for a short while until service on the line leading into it was discontinued and pulled up.
