I have a 70's era short stack William Crooks marx loco, great shape, but some one has applied a red paint job to the boiler.......... with a brush. Any suggestions?

If its diecast paint stripper I have used, Plastic I used brake fluid (have to soak) took a couple days but worked nice, Also I seen on line was easy-off, (never used) I'd look on line, many folk use different items, also u will get much help from OGR! Postwar steamer was bought as needed a home, striped paint along with tender has held up for years

You might try Purple Power. It doesn't always work, but I've had gook luck with it.
I had good luck with the Easy-Off spray oven cleaner by spraying and leaving overnight in a sealed plastic bag. The paint came off easily with some scrubbing with an old toothbrush in crevices. There was no damage to the plastic. Be sure to get all of the easy-off washed off before repainting.

Thanks for the help, I have always used a thick solution of laundry detergent, but only on tinplate.
And this is a tinplate forum. :-)
Generic Lectric Shave and Magic Eraser pads. Be sure to rinse the shells thoroughly afterwards.
