Greetings Everyone,

Here's the up-date I promised.  I received my new battery back and charger (MTH of course) yesterday.  I have since installed the new battery pack, buttoned up the locomotive and it is charging even as I type.  I will test her out first thing today (after the recommended 12 hour charging period)and let you know.  Again, thanks to all who helped.

Greetings Everyone,

Well, the bad news is that it seems that the battery wasn't the problem.  After charging the battery overnight with an external charger, I put the engine on the layout and BAM! "Check Track" "No Engine Found" displayed on the remote.  I deleted the engine, went through the remote and "Found" the engine, ran the engine around the layout and finally did a "Factory Reset" which deleted the engine again.  I turned off the power, waited for about 60 seconds and turned the power back on. Using the remote I Re-Entered the engine, ran it around the layout and shut it down using the remote.  Again, I turned the power off for about 60 seconds, turned the power back on and when I tried to start up the engine I got the dreaded, "Check Track" "No Engine Found" message again!  I guess it's time to take it to see the PS2 Doctor?
