I updated to the latest firmware 5.1, and after a dozen page loads, no need to load the page twice. There was a comment about 5.1 that I read somewhere that the issue with Safari crashing has been fixed. Mine used to crash with 5.0.1.
Anyway, this just came out and is looking good. Now if it will fix the auto-speller running perfectly good words together, i can turn that back on.

I was thinking afterwards, that I should have tried Safari on the Mac.
And I think the speller is working better...
It is still an issue. It happens sporadically. Usually I have to hit reload once or twice a session. It is a minor issue.

Yes, it has returned for me but stilldeems better. I would say about 30% of reloads necessary, and only one crash instead of several a day like before. There's always a chance that this is a placebo and the behavior is within the range of variations of the issue, but it's better forwhatever reason (the speller is still speaking iPad though).
