I would like to know if it is possible to use The Electric Railroad Company's Mini ACC Commander to trip the sound board in the Polar Express Announcement Car? I presume the car uses constant AC Power to power the board but then uses the pulse DC from the horn button to trigger the announcement. I would run this car in TMCC mode, so 18 volts AC is always present. I would assign the ID of this car as an Accessory. I would be buying the board and speaker through Lionel and actually installing it in a Polar Express Baggage Car. (I  understand, that I  will need to add power pick-ups to the trucks) Before I embark on this modification, I want to know if this is feasible?

Or am I mistaken, and this board only need a DC input to operate the announcement (no additional power requirements)....so all I'd need to do is have a switched DC voltage applied to it?

You need a way to receive serial data, the cheapest receiver is the Dummy Loco Controller - dummy engine (lights/cplrs/sound).  It's not very well documented on the ERR site, for reasons I don't understand.

Of course, I'm not sure what that board requires in the way of power, it might run on plain DC, I know it responds to the bell button when you're operating.
