Latest release Athearn RTR GP50 Phase II  (ATH77885). This is really a carry over of Athearn's Bluebox line. It has the fuel tank as part of the frame.  Athearn left off the sunshades, stratolite beacon , GM builders plate decals and did not paint exhaust silencer silver.   They may have done this to not compete with their Genesis version of this model.

I have the first release RTR GP50 had all of the above mentioned and is a nicer model. I did not see enough differences in the Genesis version to justify the cost.

 No layout yet, other than a circle to break locomotives in.  Majority are conventional. I have JMRI with Sprog II for programming decoders.  The majority of my fleet will be DCC nonsound soundtraxx decoders as I've already installed a few (plug n play) and a few will have econami.
