A big like on the look of the " alley " area Dave. 🤓

If the  "  sloppy work version "  rail line isn't going to be a heavily traveled track , I could see the grass and low growing vegetation growing up to the rails here and there with a shallow looking ditch along the tracks.           Maybe some higher vegetation in spots.

All in all this is a really nice area that you have been developing on your layout sir.

Hi Dallas, I've got some tall grass clumps to add at some point. This side of the layout was against the wall in the past. Now it's out in the open for all my sins to show.

Tim, what's the function of the two green circuit boards?  My new WTIU is scheduled for deliver today.   Glad yours is working flawlessly!   I hope that I will enjoy the same happiness after I wire in the new system.

Cheers, Dave

Dave they are

DCC Specialties PSXX-AC Intelligent Circuit Breaker

The nice thing about the PSX series is both the speed of sensing a short
plus
load and the adjustable setting for different  trip current rating.

Dave thank you for asking the question! I still have to get my layout up and wired but it is good to know what I am going into!

I placed buildings on one side of Main Street up to where everything will be redone. There not all where they used to be I also but in a premade section of woods I've kept from 5 layouts ago. It'll need some sprucing up and reshaping but that's easy.

Looks great, Dave...the layout is really coming together...we have a few like buildings..one of my favorites is the corner department store!

Installed my new WTIU unit, turned it on, it did an update, I added my engines and it works flawlessly. I was hesitant about the app vs the handheld remote but, I adapted in no time, and surprisingly I think I like it better also added the app to my iPad and good to go, It was definitely worth the wait.

Jim, your technolgy skills are impressive.   I'm still running conventional...

I’ve miss a few weeks on the site.   Now that the snow has covered the valley , I’ve had a chance to carry on working on scenery in the new areas of the layout.   I like taking photos as they help in picking out missing details.   Here’s a view of a Westbound ‘SEABOARD Grain Train’ off the Kettle Sub.  Trains originating from the U.S. clear customs inspection , get a change of power, then carry on to the west coast ports for unloading.   This Trainmaster assisted with a “B” unit , have the tonnage well under control.

Thanks Mark , glad to have the time again.  Things got pretty busy in the fall with the tourist railroad preparations. We had to get some board of transport stuff out of the way and get an event recorder replaced and working so that the locos will be up to Canadian standards.  But it’s great to be able to have the time now to get back downstairs and finish some of these scenes around the layout, some under construction and others that are planned.     It’ll be a busy winter !  I will keep the guys updated and entertained !

I could add a dimmer switch, but I've got all kinds of woodland scenic lights for budlings. I also hope to add utility poles and streetlights for nighttime scenes.

Sounds good Dave, I was surprised when I got my LED lights from offline I noticed right away on the box it stated does not work with dimmer switches! But they work great over my phone dimming, changing colors! When I get the sheetrock done I will take a couple photos of the different shade and colors.

You have a great looking train room! I wish I could have mine inside! LOL

Thanks Mike, yours is looking great. As far as inside I've always wanted an outbuilding LOL. I guess it's human nature to want what we don't have.

I guess your right Dave! All my layouts have been in outbuildings and it sucks having to walk in the cold and snow to get to the train room. The only thing good about it during the winter is it is less chance the CEO will come and get me! LOL

I have been able to have some help putting up some more sheetrock. I am short 10 sheets do to the fact the first package of building materials was limited by the mighty CEO! She says I should be able to get more next week!

If my legs are not killing me tomorrow, I might start mudding!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend and finding time to have fun with their layouts and trains!

Looking good Mike, certainly plenty of outlets and lighting.👍 Is the right wall without insulation an inside wall?

Dec 7 - I have rounded the bend and laid the 6’ Passing siding at Chillicothe.  Goal is to get runnable for guests dec 17!  Work trip next week creates a time crunch.

Still need to put in the turn at Chillicothe and cross Black Creek.  Until the crew gets the bridge in at Black Creek, we’re cut off from St Joseph.  Making progress!  I can at least stage / start a train at the passing siding, head up to Marceline and return.  Trains will run on the 17th one way or another.
