Can't do N&W 2188 with the Y6b tool, as it is now.  This loco had a bare

smokebox, along with 2177.  All other Y6b had sheathed smokeboxes like

the JLC Lionel #2200.

Now I'd go for that Vision Legacy UP GTEL 8500 Turbine, with hot and cold

running everything! Imagine....four Fat Boys: two in the B unit, and two in

the 24C tender!  Crank this baddie up, and blow the windows out of your

basement!

WOW!!! there are a lot of great ideas out there!!! There is definitely a market for the 4-8-2 and 4-8-4 out there! And the switcher's 0-4-0 and 0-6-0! If Lionel played it right, they could create the die's that would allow for the scale size, detailing and full Legacy control, then a simplified version for the less expensive sets and individual sale. (Or are they already doing that??? ).

My wish would be for The Reading T-1 4-8-4(scale, detailing & full Legacy), Delaware & Hudson K-62 4-8-4(scale, etc. etc.). And C&O's Greenbrier, but the original group(600-604) as delivered from Lima(1935)(scale, etc. etc.). Love the idea for BM&R(R&N) #425 Pacific.

The idea posted by another individual for a "Series" for Excursion Locomotives and associated rolling stock is a fantastic suggestion. Lionel might be able to roll with that 'Series' for a while. There are a lot of great steam engines 'to be modeled!'

How about the ALCO C-430 (scale, etc. etc.) Not to forget the C-630 and C-636 (and/or their Canadian counter point M-630 and M-636). I agree on the RS-1 (WWII).

Hmmmn... How about Baldwins RS-12? Or couple of Lima-Hamiltons switchers (sorry... brain cramp right now, can't recall the model numbers....)

The hope that Lionel will start manufacturing their products here in the USA again. Like others, I know this propably wishful thinking. But, the Presidential Box Cars are a starting point.

I think Lionel will be best served to accept a change in the tooling to produce all models with a Kaydee Pad for those of us who choose to install a Kadee.

that will be a step forward towards a powerful O scale commonality across all brands.

And maybe make an effort to either leave the road number blank and provide a stick em sheet of numbers or print different road numbers per product run.

I like this idea!!

Oh Swafford....you just couldn't resist resurrecting this thread, could you?  Probably a good thing.  If the hobby is going to survive and have any chance of thriving into the future a constant "conversation" is healthy.  Manufacturers can see and hear what customers actually want to spend their money on.

I wonder if any of the manufacturers listen....

Might be nice if they would return some of the feedback. Even if it is just to say "we hear you, but the realities and costs of doing business dictate...etc. etc." or "sure we'll make that if we get enough of a firm $$ commitment of pre-orders" and include a necessary Target number and updated order counter so potential buyers have a better idea if something will actually get made.   (3rd Rail at least warns on thier site "not enough interest") but what is "enough" interest.  That's where an order target and counter would be helpful.  Better than just finding out one day 'cancelled'. They could tell their customers what they need to make a production successful.

I wonder if we customers would listen......

Anyway.... I would love to see an accurate (not re-painted generic or incorrect) Union Pacific 4-6-2 TT gray with white/silver stripes and matching heavyweight passenger set.  $$$ waiting.  I have the big steamers..I have the freight and will pick up additional time period freight here and there.. But Really, I would love to have a smaller passenger steamer for smaller radius to compliment my Challenger/4-12-2/Big Boy locomotives.

Maybe I should just send this picture and a check to Weaver. They seem to make a lot of accurate pacifics.

Good Day IronLake2,

The NS special paint scheme for honoring the men and women in the Military would be great. I emailed Norfolk Southern on 2/24/2012 and sent the following:

“I would suggest one engine be painted up to honor all the Americans who are serving and have served in the Armed Services for our Country! To help ensure a successful future sometimes we need to honor the people that protect our freedom. I would appreciate it if you forward these drawings to the internal team for review. Thank you for your time and attention.”

The drawing below was created by Michael Eby. The color scheme is an original created by me. This is the drawing that I sent NS in early 2012.

Regards,

Frank Swafford
