Wish list for the next Lionel catalog

One MPC reefer in my rolling stock inventory is the Red Lobster reefer from the Burger King "set". It is one of my favorites. I wouldn't mind seeing a 57 foot mechanical reefer that is decorated for Red Lobster.

I would also like to see 57 foot mechanical reefers decorated for Coca Cola. A Google search for Coca Cola reefers turns up all sorts of fantastic schemes; especially LGB's but others too.

I would also like to see 57' mechanical reefers for PepsiCo, Sprite, Dr Pepper, Tab, Jolt, and many others. A lot of potential fun in that.

In addition to popular soft drinks one could do the fast food chains and other restaurants.

Vision line k4, well more for when they finish the one they are restoring.

If I could have my wish granted, I would love to see what Lionel would do with an Erie Triplex, Legacy or VISIONLINE, it wouldn't matter to me.  That surely would be an item to have in your collection.  I don't think it would be in the next catalog, but definitely in the 2023 BIG Book.

I’m really hoping for a Legacy or Vision 1309. The real thing is about to embark on its first summer excursions and I’d love to see Lionel announce a fantastic model to go with it.

We need a Vision line Hiawatha.  It's long overdue.

The RoadRailer 53' trailers on bogies and standard 53' Trailers were transferred from Bowser to Weaver Models, then all of Weaver Models cars made in the USA were turned into the LionScale line made in the USA.

The RoadRailers and Trailers need to be made for the LionScale line, based on monthly orders, in new and old paint schemes including:

I'd like to see another run of 60' Pullman Standard boxcars.

Now that we know Lionel does not have MTH's PRR A5 molds (or they do but will bury them in favor of their own oversized A5), the only thing left I want from them is to complete the AFT as promised.

I really do not expect any new engine design from them for a long while.  Just reissues.

How about a Penn Central steam locomotive?!? Fantasy, I know, but I think a Penn Central steam locomotive would be a fun idea.

How about a run of steel mill cars? I could use some slag cars and one more hot metal car three pack.

And as an added bonus, I wish they would raid the Pollock archives and do some different styles of the cars. There are some very interesting cars that were made in the early 1900s. The number of small parts would probably make for an eye-popping price per car but it's all for a good cause

I'm not much into crew talk but this would be a cool feature! Even if radios weren't a thing in the steam+caboose era, I don't care. That would be cool. Particularly if they had a sensor track activated sequence for dropping off a car on a siding.

i would like to see more NYC, ARR and FEC lionchief diesels. F3's geeps etc.

I have all the available Lionel products in the LIONEL STEEL line-up.  I wish for a caboose (perhaps a transfer caboose) with this décor.

I for one would like to see the Lionelville Firehouse and Big Bay lighthouse accessories, as well as the 'Mainline' signals they had.

I mentioned this once before, but how about a modular signal system integrated into Fastrack. The track would have a similar design to the Defect Detector, with sensors in the trackbed, and a socket that one could 'plug in' the style of signal they want.

What I want to see more than anything (please don’t laugh to hard)  Is a Lionel Legacy GE EVOLUTION HYBRID .. does anyone think Lionel will ever produce this guy again? What’s the chance ?? It’s a bucket list item. I absolutely must own one. I would love to purchase I new one. I’m sure I’m not the only one out there. What do you guys think the chances are? Thoughts ??

A NYC woodsided caboose with details that we are used to seeing. The overall 80’s designed caboose is okay. A diecast chassis, Kadee ready, scale handrails, brake wheel,  separately applied grab irons, scale Tomar like lanterns or none at all,  more scale sized window panes, perhaps an interior, figures, scaled ladders and newer trucks. I’m not condemning smoke to those that like it. I’d rather have a scale size stack and an interior. Offer a few different coopola’s for other roads that had similar styled ones. Such as the Rutland, CV and Boston and Albany.

For all the L2a’s, B&A Berkshires and Mikado’s. Nobody has ever done a nice caboose. They all have flaws. They tooled up a beautiful bay window for the diesels. You either have to 3 rail a brass one or pay a hefty price for a Mullet River one and build your own.

You’ve made some really nice prototype engines. Make a quality detailed caboose to bring up the rear.

I have been hoping for some years now for a reissue of the Zephyr, and this time with add on cars.  I keep thinking that with the restoration ongoing of the real Mark Twain Zephyr, that the publicity would spur Lionel.  But each new catalog comes and still no Zephyr

Lionel did a custom run of the GE ES44AC #2010 Hybrid about a year or two ago for Nassau Hobby Center. They sold out pretty quick so you never know, maybe Lionel will do them again with the next run of ES44’s but it may be a few years since ES44AC’s were in the most recent catalog…

Wow I had no idea they did a run of them a year ago for Nassau. I would have ordered one for sure !  I have been looking for one. I don’t know how I missed it ..
