Yeah Paul, I thought when the news of a VL Big Boy came out, it will be easy on the wallet. I had said in the past, I would order every Dreyfuss they released. Well, now, I don't think so, at least 2 though.
Mr. Muffin sent around the cover photo. It's real. They said they will have the catalog up at 10 AM on Thursday Jan. 12th on their website.

There was no Dreyfuss tooling as the prior TMCC one was the MTH tooling(see the lawsuit). I guess we'll have to wait and see exactly what this so called wooden block claiming to be a Dreyfuss really is.

@ironman1, I really like seeing what other OGR Forum members wish for as everyone has different interest in this very diverse hobby. I wished for a Legacy 0-4-0 Steam Switcher and sure enough, it’s on order, who knows when it might show up. Many folks have been wanting a Legacy Dreyfus Hudson, it just might happen. I’m not into LionChief, but I like the nice Legacy offerings, and this particular thread tells Lionel what they would like see made, and it’s such a cool thread. The new catalog appears on the 12th….Happy Railroading Everyone

I hope its diecast so its heavy enough to pull a long train. They could do 3 production runs with the tooling in the next 10 yrs. Maybe that would make it worth the tooling.
Hopefully there are some new PS-1,PS-5,,PS-4, and TOFC PUP trailer offerings. I also like postwar remakes but pretty sure sure we won’t see anything like that for long time.
Fingers crossed for anything Western Maryland!

IDK, it is possible that they did manage to buy/get a whole new tooling. Either way, yes it will be expensive and probably right in that ballpark. Sets will definitely be in line of Big Boy pricing, meaning Big Boy equals Dreyfuss set or Dreyfuss over Big Boy price.
Will there be any WM steam that is MTH tooling?
Will there also be Santa Fe 2900 class?

Only if its the Short tender Version. IDT the Long Tender Version was double headed much or it was uncommon.
Dave Olson mentioned that Lionel did buy the MTH Russian Decapod tooling which I always thought was a sharp looking engine. Maybe we'll see that too? I'd also love to see the MTH Premier center beams as those have been price gouged like crazy on the second hand market.
