While running a lash-up consisting of 2 MTH premier diesels, I’ve noticed that every time I go to run them, the bell, horn and coupler slack sounds reset to 0.
Any suggestions as to why this is happening?

Two questions...
What release of DCS are you using?
Is it the lashup or the member engines that have the 0 settings?

It’s the latest update.
The engines in the lash-up have the zero settings. When I run them independently, there aren’t any issues.

If it's all of the members except the lead engine, that's exactly the way it's supposed to be.
The bell and whistle/horn in the middle and trailing members are turned off by design for the lashup, and can be turned back on if you so desire.
The coupler slack is also turned off because it's on the same sound channel as cab chatter, which is intentionally off for those members, as well.

In this instance, the lead engine of the lash-up has no horn or bell sounds until I bring that specific engine up, go to sounds and bring the sounds up to an audible level from the 0 setting. It appears to reset to 0 after every usage.

I'd suspect that the engine's battery may be in need of recharging or replacing
