I bought a Union Carbide / Linde covered hopper and my son bought an NJ box car (where we live). My father worked at Union Carbide for years when I was young, I have one Mpc Era Union Carbide tank car he bought, so this pairs nice with it. I'm on the lookout for more Union Carbide rolling stock so let me know if have any you're looking to part with 😁
I picked up my 2 preordered BN bay windows today. I also got a CGW passenger car a can of ELO and my wife got a Micky Mouse Lego. What a great store, if you're in town make sure to visit. I also got a free calendar for our state's great railway museum.

That’s a mighty lot of fish dinners to warrant that magnificent engine.

Thanks Mark. They say that repetitive motion is not good for a person ( it's a lot of running back and forth for me to get to the fish dinners ) ...........I guess I'll have to suffer through it.
Picked up this pair of lighted cabeese for decent prices at the Greenberg show this past weekend in Wilmington, MA ....

Quite a few things actually....
First I ended up discovering Mario's Trains still had a few of the Williams 72 footer coach packs in stock and expanded my Big Boy excursion train from 5 to 7 cars.
Then found someone on The Bay who was selling a pair of K-line railmates in JB Hunt/Rock Island paint for a surprisingly reasonable price for these kinds of cars, bringing my Railmate/Roadrailer total up to 8 (6 K-line, 2 custom).
And last but not least, managed to snag a UP Aux tender, meaning my Big Boy excursion train is now complete! Ended up accidentally busting the knuckle on it after giving it a push to let the oil work its way into the wheels and it slammed into the front of 4014, but a bit of superglue seems to have fixed it right up.

Went out to the local Model Train Shop, they carry mostly HO scale, but do have some O scale stuff. I had seen the new Woodland Scenics Smith Brothers TV & Appliance store online and the store had one, so I snapped it up. Still more work to do on the scenery, posting that in, "What did you do on your layout today", thread.

Awesome building, Scott. Wow.
I didn't know I had "GHI" syndrome until a forum member listed a set of ROW PA's in NYC livery. I had to have them ! The dummy A unit of the set takes center track. This NYC set replaces a D&H ROW set that I sold years ago during a divorce cash-crunch. The NYC joins an MTH Erie powered unit & a Lionel EL dummy. Come to think of it, I may have an Alco problem !

Nice collection of PA's Rich.
What is this ALCO problem thing you speak of??????😂😂😂
Lionel NJ Transit set
I couldn't help myself. I got the Lionel Polar Express High Speed set. I think it is really fun!

I’m so behind on posting pictures, and since I finally upgraded my phone, all the pics I used to have to email to myself to upload I can now upload straight from my phone b/c I don’t have to worry about storage. Anyway- here’s some catching up before the board goes under maintenance today:
Lionel “SPSF Merger Scheme” Southern Pacific SD40t-2
From eBay, Atlas Soo Line(former DSS&A) PS-1 double door boxcar & MIl. road 40’ Hy cube. two roads that shared a geographical footprint in the Midwest & had trackage absorbed by the same companies.
Lionel Santa Fe covered gondola & BNSF Beer car. Love this gondola! Might by 16 years old but the details are great. Drop ends, removable covers, nice paint scheme. I also like the beer car but purposefully put it next to the Atlas BNSF boxcar to show the difference in colors..
lionel Washington State Grain Train 3 bay Centerflow & MTH Premier Burlington Northern 3 bay center flow. While the Grain Train hopper is a bit “plain Jane” besides the. Graphics, overall it’s a cool car!
Weaver UP PS4740 and GTW “PS4750”. -_-... Even though it’s a 4740
moving North of the border with these next few....Weaver PS4740 Canadian Pacific from Public Delivery Track
Lionel ACF 3 bay hoppers: Government of Canada and IMC Canada LTD both from Trainz
Some additions to my Railbox fleet...
first, from Trainworld, the middle one. Lionel Railbox type XAF10. Patch added to block out Lionel logo
Atlas Trainman “large logo” Railbox 50’ type XAF20B w/ ACF builder’s logo in lower left . FromThe above is on the left vs the more recently produced Trainman Railbox on the right. Slight difference in color, different model designation(XAF20B vs. XAF20). The one on the left is more similar in hue to the ATSF ex-Railbox
The above pictured boxcar is on the left in the pic below. Compared to the more recently produced Trainman Railbox on the right. Slight difference in color, different model designation(XAF20B vs. XAF20). The one on the left is also more similar in hue to the Atlas Trainman ATSF ex-Railbox
this post is missing another great Railbox pick-up as is the picture below, that said, here’s a picture of my Railbox fleet minus the most recent addition and my other “alt history” scheme road number
more to come!
Pictures re-uploaded on 4/7/22 at 3:09pm after forum change

Some recent pick ups.
First- some MTH engineer figures for my F3 upgrade. I also sourced the original Lionel figures from Jeff at The Train Tender.
Also just received this NYC double door boxcar from a forum member

Bob, Nice engineers. Are those pallets in the NYC car or some other load? The car looks great! We used to see a lot of the green NYC System P&LE cars here in Western Pennsylvania.

Auto frames Mark.
The engineers may go under the knife in order to fit them in the cab.
Today I received four WP California Zephyr Aluminum passenger cars by K-line. These are brand new in the factory sealed boxes and look fantastic! Too bad K-line didn't survive, they made great stuff. These are the 15" versions so they fit well on my 12'x8' layout, and they have interiors with people instead of silhouettes typically found in simi scale passenger cars. I'm totally stoked I found these being a WP fan. here's some photos.
Original New Packaging:
Individual cars:
WP Silver Dollar
D&RGW Silver Mustang:
CB&Q Silver Roundup:
CB&Q Silver Horizon Observation car:
Normally pulled by a set of Western Pacific F7 ABA's, they were all busy pulling freight, so leave to the good old #485 GS-64 to pull it from Paradise*, CA to Reno, NV. Then a set of F7's will take it the rest of the way to Salt Lake City, Utah. I think the silver cars look great being pulled by a black GS! i'm missing a baggage car from the same set, hoping to find one on eBay. Maybe someone here knows of one K-line K4613-10903 Zephyr baggage car
*I've posted this before in OGR, so for those that may not have seen that post, my layout is named after Paradise, CA. It's a fantasy rail stop, as there wasn't a passenger rail stop in Paradise's history, other than logging line for the Diamond Match Co. in Chico, CA. and other lumber mills in the area. I so named my layout because my Dad lived in Paradise for 25 years where in passed away in 2010. And then in 2018 the town burned to the ground in the Camp fire, killing 86 people. In memory of the life's lost, homes and businesses destroyed by the fire, I named my layout.

Super Scott! I have some Canadian Pacific versions that I enjoy. Top-notch quality!
Picked up this MTH Chessie GP40 at my LHS. It had less than 10 scale miles on it. It is from 2006.

Bob, those are really nice figures, the detail in the paint is awesome! That is a really nice double door boxcar with separately applied pieces like the ladders and grab rails. Very nice finds!
I have a Lionel double door D&RGW boxcar but most of the detail is molded in. It looks good from a distance but lacks the details of your NY Central. It also has the auto frames load.

Thanks Scott. I have an older PRR double door car that I'm going to put some of these racks in.
Yea- MTH did a nice job on the figures. Not sure if I'd mess with either guy....they both look pretty tough

Must be aluminum passenger car week.
Just picked up this five car Lionel UP 15" aluminum passenger car set. It will work well on my mostly O-36 layout. They were made in 1984, I believe, and were part of an original 7 car set. I have the new Legacy UP F7 AA BTO set on order for a scheduled winter delivery and this set should go well with it. Hopefully, the colors will be close, but I'm not that concerned about it.

Charlie , what's the MTH number on this one ? 🤔
Is it a Premier , Scale Railking or Imperial Railking ? It's hard for me to see from a photo on MTHs diesels. It does look really nice though . 🤓
The photos below were posted on another thread recently. But I wanted to expound a bit more on the locomotive here. I recently purchased a 2001 NIB Lionel TMCC Union Pacific 4-6-2 Pacific. It's worked great, right out of the box, is a good runner, a stump puller, and I love the forlorn sound of its steam whistle. And it's black, not two-tone gray.
I noticed Lionel's offering of this locomotive in its latest catalog, upgraded to Legacy of course and for over a thousand dollars more than what I paid for this one. Only the latest one is in the two-toe gray. In researching this paint scheme, I learned that the Union Pacific painted only 14 of its 4-6-2 Pacifics in the two-tone gray paint scheme for its non-streamliner passenger trains from 1946-1952. The UP had far more black 4-6-2s used for freight service than it had two-tone gray ones used for passenger service. One thinks of the two-tone gray paint scheme for UP's larger steamers like the FEFs used for passenger service.
Anyway, had Lionel offered its latest Legacy UP 4-6-2 Pacific in black, rather than the two-tone gray, I may have caved and ordered one. But for around $1,000 less, and immediate enjoyment now, I'm glad I settled for this one, not to mention its quality and dependability.

Nice find, Scott. I love them and had the Santa Fe version of these a few years back
These definitely had your name on them. Way to go. 😃
And now my engineers have someplace to sit.....
Interiors for my F3's from Lionel. I have more on the way for future upgrades.

Yes, I see that they are automobile frames now that you mention it. It seems most model people have to go under the knife to fit in cabs, passenger cars, and motor vehicles.
Dallas, Premier 20-2656-1, 2006 Volume 1.
Stumbled across a couple of these Lionel diecast tanker trucks. Didn’t know they existed. I have a bit of a current obsession going with my MPC Humble tankcars and when I saw these, had to get them. I picked up three of them.
Now I’m thinking I need to have a small refinery or distribution center scene on tthe layout.

Just received my Menards Strip Mall Shopping Center. I saw one in person back in February at a modular layout and really liked it. Wasn’t planning on buying any new structures for my layout just yet since I’m still doing the benchwork on my layout remodel. Of course Menards sends out a notice that they are almost out of these. After 2 weeks of being on the fence, I pulled the trigger on the purchase. Great building and it’s cramming 5 businesses into one area which help’s with the limited space. This building is much “cooler” than my plasticville structures.

Richie, that will sure look awesome going down the track! Long wait for those UP F7's! What are the part numbers on the boxes, LIONEL UNION PACIFIC 9 CAR SET 6-7210/9545/9546/9547/9548/9549/6-8481/6-8480? It could be from 1984, maybe somebody in OGR knows. You have me curious!! Probably like you, can't wait to see them all together rolling down the track on your layout. ;-)
