Buy anything cool lately?

We purchased the Maiden Rescue on Ebay but thought the Canadian dude was kind of boring.  My boys made a few minor modifications with their Legos.

I also picked up my MTH Pre-Order....but as you can see below it has been stolen!

The Riddler has tied the maiden to the railroad tracks!

The Joker has hijacked my SD70ACe.   Why so serious?

Thanks for the heads up!  I refreshed and they went away for me as while.  I updated the post.   

Last minute purchase at the Toledo train show, picked up a MTH NS 70' passenger car set of five.  Don't think th y were ever used!  Pictures are not the best.

Hi Jim, Thanks for the heads up.  It looks like the diner at Station Square was the former Ritter's Diner, Baum Blvd., Shadyside, Pgh.  Whoever bought it is hopefully feelng like they "bought something cool" -- in 1:1, that is.  The 1976 Fodero might even be simple to model:

I hope I can get to see the old P&LE Station complex someday. I don't think I was ever taken there as a kid but we probably drove near it.

UPDATE: Looks like the station building is maybe a 1951 DeRaffele, while the 1976 Federo may refer to the newer diner bldg. that took its place.  Regardless, it's still a "cool buy!" TRRR

interesting info regarding the diner.  I grew up in East Liberty and therefore very familiar with Baum Blvd and Ritters Diner.  Actually I had breakfast there yesterday (best home fries  in the city).  At one time they were on the opposite side of the street but I don't remember that.   

As it happens a fellow Paneran (Paneras Bread) just walked in and I will see if he can identify that diner and yes, he thinks that it WAS the old Ritters Dinner.

I bought this paint-by-numbers kit for my uncle while he was going through some health issues.  Painting helped keep his mind in a happier place.  He is in Stage IV now, so not much time left and he does not have the functionality to paint.  This will always be a treasured item

Just picked up the Lionel #31773 NS Dash Tank Train with the add on Dash 9 Dummy and add on intermediate cars.

I had trouble with mytrack laying flat. So took out elevation and ran my NEW 675. it dont run.

I think I will go to bed now, and dream about my next purchase....

How can I tell if this comes with 3D sound, wait a min, what does the GI-Raffe say, anyway? Did I get boondoggled yet again??

A complete impulsive buy. But I figured if I'm going to try and run some  G trains in the yard this spring I might as well have a East Tennessee & Western North Carolina sitting around somewhere.lol

Since I live here it would  probably  end up being  down right embarrassing if I didn't

Needless to say, I love that idea! I had one of these (the green-gold ‘anniversary’ paintjob one of #12) for quite some time until I got rid of all my G scale stuff (right before Bachmann made this in On30). That Baldwin design is a beauty in any scale, especially in ET&WNC markings as intended!

I found some parts on the Train Tender's site and he sent them to me in a flash.  The red lamp cover I found on Ebay for a reasonable price.  The only parts I am having trouble finding are the "Track adapters".  Part number 350-62, for O and O27 track.  They are nothing more than bent wire that slips into the rails of tubular track.  They are held to the transfer table by the Adapter brackets.

The 'Handle with care' on the top of that caboose - Is that a sticker or is it painted on? I've never seen anything like it. I would assume it was some sort of a dealer display example. Nice finds, btw.

That looks like an old decal  on the top of that caboose. Not an original but something added at a later date.

I was at the annual Winterail event in Corvallis, Oregon today. The event went okay, but it was a very long drive to get there.
Didn't buy much, got these books very cheap, the number board is off a UP SD60M, and the scenery stuff was acquired at a Portland hobby shop on my way home.

Basset Lowke O gauge live steam LMS 2-6-0 that was made in 1999.  Pulls 8 passenger cars that weigh over a pound and a half each at a good clip for 20 minutes.

Finally joined the Hudson Club with a 773 from 1950.
