Any one recognize this mystery engine? A member of another forum spotted it parked on the tracks in the City of Tecumseh, MI, once the home of a plant making small utility gas engines by that name. It’s unmarked with no data plates. It appears to have some sort of mechanical propulsion system with drive shafts and unijoints.

According to The Second Diesel Spotters Guide by Jerry A. Pinkepank, it is a GMDH-3. It was built by General Motors Diesel of Canada in January 1960. Only one was built, for McKinnon Industries. This is a diesel-hydraulic locomotive.
EMD built very few industrial locomotives,BTW.

Sorry, non of the Ford family worked for General Motors, especial Edsel Ford.
