Call it "private message" or "personal message" or whatever PM stands for... how can I contact a fellow forum member without putting all the details up for view by everybody?

I may be wrong but, I though ONLY digital subscribers are allowed to do that.
I've been asking for that for years and Rich keeps saying "NO WAY".
Some (but not all) forum members put their email address in their profile. If everyone did, that would solve the problem.

Well, call this fate or a coincidence or whatever but the member I was trying to contact is HOT WATER.
Jack (we share the same first name), I found an old Railfan magazine from Nov. 1984 n our LHS and bought it for a dollar. Once I got into it I saw that it had a feature story about the EMD Locomotive paint schemes, and a special article by Railfan's editor, Jim Boyd, about a cab ride on 4449 leading the Freedom Train where he specifically names you as the fireman. There's other 4449 coverage as well. So I thought you might enjoy seeing this.
Anyway, you probably have this magazine or at least have seen it, but if not... I'll be happy to send you this copy if you would like it. All I need is a reply, yes or no.

Thanks for the offer, but I already have pretty much everything that my late buddy, Jim Boyd, wrote about EMD and/or 4449. Thanks again.

If your email is in your profile, you can also just say (type) "My email is in my profile". People can contact you and you won't have to post your email address in the thread. You can also contact anyone that has their email in their profile if you need to.
