Just finished basic CC Lite install on K-Line MP-15 with dual truck mounted motors.  This is my first command upgrade and while I'm very happy nothing went up in smoke, this engine has poor low speed performance with the upgrade.  Jerky and scary gear noise, but smooths out at higher speeds.  Cruise control is working and engine maintains (high) speed around my test loop.

I thought this engine had lots of room inside, but the original horn/bell electronics take up half the available space in the shell.  Given the poor low speed performance I'm going to reinstall the original E-unit and try the CC Lite in something with more suitable motors.

Thanks Milwrd,

Actually that thread is the reason I decided to reverse my upgrade so quickly.  I started my upgrade about the same time, read it with interest, and tested my MP-15 using the "turning the drive train" test mentioned in the posting.   I could feel the "ratcheting" in the MP-15 drive trucks, so I wasn't surprised with the outcome.  Still going through the installation and upgrade was a learning experience.

Rob - thanks for the suggestion, I tested with both parallel and series, series was the winner, but still not great.  Parallel was terrible, for a moment I thought the two motors were running in opposite directions!  As you might know, standard on this K-Line is a sliding switch to select either series or parallel when running conventional.

Yes, the last productions of the MP15 with the horn had the DPDT slide switch, which should have been standard from the start on all of the dual motored diesels(and should be on all Williams & WBB 2 motored diesels too). I wasn't sure if you had preserved this with the conversion.
