Per Lionel's presentation, the Lionel 2021 Volume 2 catalog will be released this July. They are reviewing the artwork now and it is ahead of schedule. They also mentioned that they are developing the 2022 product list. Even though the 2021 Volume 2 catalog will be the last catalog released this year their will also be many other announced product releases through out the year.

Yeah! More Legacy locomotives!

Yes! It is getting here faster than I expected. My locomotive orders from 2021 volume 1 were significant but I am sure we will find more Legacy locomotives to add to our layouts.

As a side note, Lionel said their orders from Volume 1 were excellent and are working hard to get it all out the door by the end of the year. An updated shipping schedule will be released as early as tomorrow.

That's actually a reasonable idea. Could save me the trouble of opening it up, accidentally breaking something inside and then asking you how to fix it here on the forum haha

Bill, I would advise shipping it to John!  It would be much cheaper than the 6-hour ride to the Lansdale area where John lives.    I went out there to their club open house once, and it took me nearly 6 hours, and I live in the same state.

I would be happy to save you the trip, but my layout has 054 curves so that's no better than yours.

July 16th is a Friday. Hmm, that's a bit odd. Most other catalog releases(I've seen anyway) have been Tuesdays or Wednesdays. I guess it can fall on any day of the week then. Sort of wondering what steam engines will make a reappearance? Berkshire's perhaps? What other engines would reappear? Heck I don't know. Northern's have been around, so doubt they'd be in. Anyone have any other ideas as to what repeat engines they'd be popping up? I would like to see a Y6 or a Berkshire, but can't think of anything else.

Hope so, that "train company" doesn't have the quality control issues Lionel has.

Yes I agree with you 100%, it would be good if ALL train companies had the same firm commitment to high quality that Lionel has. Let's hope that other train companies follow Lionel's lead here.  I am looking forward to Lionel's huge catalog packed with a large quantity of quality trains! July 16th will be Christmas in the summer!

Dave, I wouldn’t even begin to try to guess what they will have in the catalog.  I’ve been fooled by them and MTH too many times.  Maybe I’m just an old fool!  😄

Well, I was thinking about past catalogs, and what has come and gone. I know that we shouldn't be seeing any Northern's for a bit as they covered quite a bit over the last few years(unless they go with 844). Mohawks are covered unless they do L3's or L4's or something. They just ran some Pacific's, doubt will see Big Boy's, Challenger's, Y3's, or 2-6-6-2 Mallet's(maybe). H7's? Y6's? Berkshire's? I would like to see the last 3 I mentioned as I am interested in those since most of everything else I mentioned I have(except a Big Boy, who needs them, lol).

I know that there are other things I would indeed like to see, Dreyfuss, T1, S2 Turbine, Class A, Canadian Pacific Royal Pacific, other American 4-4-0's, Strasburg #90, the Mercury(NYC), Torpedo(PRR), Milwaukee Road Hiawatha Class A 4-4-2(and F7 4-6-4 Pacific's). Now that is one heck of a wish list, lol. Regardless of what I want to see, there are things on that list that should be made into locomotives one person or another may agree upon. See what the powers that be decide to part us from our money or keep a tight hold onto.
