I noticed the head photo on the Lionel Newsletter wishing a Happy 4th looked like a MTH 'Crocodile"...is that a hint they may be producing European models from MTH tooling?  I have to admit my eye sight she's-a -not so good, (it could be a bi-polar, I guess) but boy I sure would jump on a European steamer if they released one or more.

Esp a rerun of the BR Princess class!

I’m confused by this as indications are Lionel controls this pretty tightly. Plus my dealer says no, not until the 17th.

Stuff was leaked about a week before the catalog release.  This is pretty much unavoidable as Lionel has to get the info out to the dealers before the go-live date so they can get their websites set up to take orders etc.  Lionel probably doesn't really care as leaks are part of the "buzz" that get people talking about the new products, and info getting out on the web a week or two early isn't going to make a material difference anyway.

We have 4 days to go everyone.  As many do not know what is in the catalog yet, let’s keep it that way.

This should be a wish list of what we hope to see or what we want to see in the future.  Predictions are just guesses.  But when those wishes and guess are dashed by someone with ‘the list’, it takes away the enjoyment.

@cbojanower, I’m on the same page, I love the Excitement of seeing this fun to review catalog Without knowing anything in advance. I will look at the digital version, However, nothing takes the place of sitting back in my LazyBoy with a cup of coffee and going page by page and enjoying every minute of it. I am in the market for some new things. So, let’s keep the Secret going for just a few more days… Happy Railroading Everyone

I think the "leaks" or hints at what are in the catalog built excitement rather than take away from it. Kind of like a leak to what superhero is going to me in the next big movie.

As far as what is in the catalog let's see some scale autoracks, scale box cars and quite frankly some new freight tooling. (I do not have a list, just hopes of what I would like to see)

As far as what Lionel should have in the catalog are a commitment to finish the freedom train and other promised projects but only time will tell.

I can't remember a catalog in the last 5+ years where the items on the cover (usually high ticket VL and Legacy engines) weren't leaked.  Big Boy, Dreyfuss, Class A, Triplex, Polar Express, you name it -- we knew about them all before the official go-live date.  It might be disappointing to some but the reality is that it only helps Lionel the more people talk about their new products.  If it really bothers folks perhaps the title of the thread should be changed to "CATALOG SPOILER WARNING" so that people who don't want to read about it yet can stay away for a couple more days.
