This is a new (to me) MTH engine that I just got and figured I'd better test her. Quick video!

I bought an older MTH 2 rail PS1 model here on the forum and was going to upgrade her to PS3. This one is RTR!!

Well Sir! I know you must be correct. My camera takes off some of the bass. It sounds better in person.

I thought it sounded good, but I don't know what it should sound like.

I should make a better video and maybe enable the playable feature too? I know, wrong is wrong.

Maybe the playable feature took away some of the correct sound sampling?

or just maybe, a better speaker is needed!

I appreciate the help here.

I will check further into this. I keep going with what video pops up first. I'll have to listen to many more.

I'm excited to try a better speaker in the tender and try a baffle on it as well if needed.

I'll also listen to other MTH releases to see how they compare.

To a lay person like me, I think they sound like my other challenger type engines. So, it will be good to learn the difference.

It's great to hear from you!

Joe, very cool locomotive. About 9 years ago or so I found the same engine but the PS3 model on eBay. I always wanted one due to the great paint scheme. Good luck with your new locomotive.

Joe, I think your layout is awesome. Your ballast looks excellent.

Speaking of minimum radius..... Recently after not having any place to run trains for many years I set up a small switching layout on my 2.5' by 16' bench work. I used all Atlas sectional rack except for one piece I had to custom cut. I have been running some switchers back and forth. When it was announced that 3001 would be restored I got out my MTH Mohawk that I had bought new on the last run of the -2 Mohawks. Fortunately, everything worked properly but what really surprised me is the Mohawk can go through not just a 36"r curve but a 36"r S-curve. It goes through an Atlas 36"r why turnout and it immediately hits an opposite direction 36"r curve. Not only has it done it once but about 6 times and no derailments!
