i want to receive emails only from the tmcc/legacy forum. I an getting emails not related to that forum.

I don't think your own posts are emailed, at least mine never have been and I follow several forums here. You can follow a thread either by posting to it or selecting 'Follow THis Topic' from the upper left corner at the top of the thread.
I take it you figured out how to get the things you want from the TMCC/Legacy forum by left clicking on your user name in the upper right of the page and selecting 'Notifications' from the menu?
