With the arrival of August it seems that cooler temperatures and changing leaves are just around the corner, and with them, the fall York show! I'm happy to announce that we are planning to hold our 4th (I think?) YouTube Meet and Greet/Q & A at this show. We will be holding the event on Friday, October 18th at 11:00. This is a change from previous events, which were held on Saturday.

Similar to last fall - we will be holding this event in the Veranda Room. We have requested more chairs from the Eastern Division due to the audience we had in the fall. The structure of the event will be someone similar to what it was in the past, except we will have some pre-planned questions for the panelists.

I am also looking for any vendors/dealers that would like to donate a give-away item for this event. In the past, we have provided attendees 16 and under with one ticket and everyone else with a different ticket. This way we could try to give-away bigger ticket items to the younger crowd. If you're a vendor/dealer and interested in donating an item, feel free to reach out to me directly.

If you have questions that you'd like to hear asked at the event, feel free to place your questions in the Google form below. We will do our best to ask as many as possible while keeping the event close to one hour in length.

Thanks for moving it to Friday!  There will be a lot more people at the meet at that time.  More chairs is a great idea.

Do you plan to alternate between Friday and Saturday in the future as a way to appeal both to regular members who aren't there on Saturday and families with children who might be less likely to attend on Friday?

We are almost a month away from the Fall York Event! We are finalizing our plans for the Q&A event and still accepting questions for the panel. Panel Question Form

Our panel for this fall will be Eric from Eric's Trains, Peachy from Peachy's Trains, Jason from Jason's O Gauge Trains, and Art from Art's Model Trains and the 3 Rails, 4 Dads YouTube Podcast.

We are still looking for any dealers that would be interested in supporting this event through a giveaway donation. Shout out to TrainZ for donating and engine and gift card for the event as well as Gryzboski's Trains for working on shirts!

It's York Week! We are looking forward to our event on Friday at 11:00 in the Veranda Room. The lineup has a slight change since Jason cannot make the show this week. Our panel will consist of: Eric from Eric's Trains, Peachy from Peachy's Trains, Sid from Sid's Trains, and Art from Art's Model Trains and the 3 Rails 4 Dads podcast.

We are still looking for door prizes from vendors or dealers. We are grateful to Trainz for donating a gift card and engine for this event!

We will have shirts available for purchase on Friday at the event. Free for those 16 and under and $20 for 17+. All proceeds are being donated and we will announce the foundation that we are working with at the event.

The form, which is embedded above can still be used to post questions. I've also linked it in the description of my York video below.

Hey Chris, it looks like Clem's primer is saying that the social is on Saturday? I assume that is just a mistaken copy over from last year?

https://www.tcatrains.org/wp-c...Primer-Fall-2024.pdf

The meet notice and I'm guessing where the Clem Primer gets it's information is largely cut and paste.  It's wrong.  They had the Legacy meeting on there after repeated attempts to have it removed for a few years.  Finally one of the nice ladies got a hold of me and we got it removed.

Have a great time y'all! Sorry I have to miss it this year.

Me too Chris, family stuff going on that needs sorting before the snow flies, and there isn't enough people to make do, so extra long weekends of working on that. Ah, next year as they say.

You all(or yawl) have a great time, be sure to post photos of all the going on's both this event as well as the Great York Experience. Get your rest in folks, Thursday is tomorrow, and that means all trains on all tracks. You all are going to have to eat big breakfasts to make up for me not being there, and if you go out for something to drink, maybe have a Guinness for me. Also, grab a soft pretzel for me too, maybe a milkshake. Have fun.

It was a fun event, very well attended, and I won a door prize - a digital subscription to OGR!

Some or all of the event was recorded and I was told that the recording was given to Eric's Trains to edit and post.

Unfortunately, the TCA did not correct the date from last York, so it was incorrectly listed as happening on Saturday, not on Friday. So I'm sure there were a lot of disappointed people, especially kids, who showed up on Saturday and missed it.

I would imagine that it will be unless the TCA finally recognizes that they may have more attendees if they move the show to Friday-Sunday.

I'm thinking we will keep it a fall event. I don't want to saturate the dialogue and information.

Thank you - I had asked because of the incorrect listing as happening on Saturday instead of Friday.

In the New for Fall York section of the Primer on Page 9 after the operating Layouts; the YouTube meet and greet had its own separate billing stating that it was taking place on Friday October 18th at 11:00am in the Veranda Room.

Where I messed up was not removing it from the actual Schedule on Saturday down on page 24. For that I apologize Chris.

This would be yet another error that I had asked to be corrected when I agreed to run the event after the spring show. The event is Friday at 11.
