Morning guys, sure is a lot of wonderful looking cars! I am sorry as I do not have anything to share, all my cars are packed up during construction except 1 for track testing! LOL
Side note, Bob if you need another Reading Box car, I have one that is just taking up space. I put it up for sale a couple of months ago and no takers. I will make you a screaming deal on it if you're interested!

Krieg Lok, Ridiculously good looking boxcars, Its beyond me how you do such good work in such little time. Bill
Yesterday I remembered to take a photograph of my boxcar of the week. Hey, what a coincidence! It’s a Reading! 😄 Though this Atlas O outside braced car is of a slightly older prototype than the others on display this week. I’ll say again, I really like the detail of the Atlas cars.
While growing up watching freight trains on the New Haven main from Springfield to New Haven, most boxcars were painted boxcar red with most having white lettering. Occasionally a line would have a new boxcar in a new paint and letter scheme. I'm so old, I don't remember the newer ones. Here are several lines with old and older cars.
Have a great Sunday
WOW! Looks like lots of Reading cars out there for me to look for.....
@mike g.- I'm interested. Check your email.

I love the "Wings of Angels" series. I'm considering getting the entire set, but they seldom go on sale. Wonder why...
@Dallas Joseph posted:I don't have any BEEPs but from what I can see they definitely must be addictive .
I hope you can get a bigger layout together. ............there have been posts on layouts that are expanded by sawing through walls
No walls to saw through, Dallas, as our family room entertainment system sits opposite the wall my layout's on. For now, my big locos have to suffer the indignity of "floor running." How did we ever get to the point that basements are not standard like they used to be?
OK sorry Bill.
How about posting some photos of your layout and the sourounding area .............I'm sure some of us helpful 'elves ' could give some suggestions on how to give those " big locos " room to run.
( I think that entertainment area would be enhanced with a train running around the edges of the room with some really beautiful scenery )

Merry Christmas on the last Boxcar Sunday of 2022. I hope you all had a great year and have more to come. For this week some K-Line offerings. 1991 When We got married, 1993 our first son Ryan, 1996 Ryans wife {our daughter in law} Emily & 1999 our second son Parker
Merry Christmas OGR, PW Lionel state of Maine new to me. God speed all Have a great Christmas!
Well everyone, its Christmas (sort of) morning and here in Tybee Island, Ga its COLD (24 deg) but No snow. In all our years here we have only had a fraction of an inch of snow once about 4 years ago and it was gone by noon. So Santa really has to land on the roof ! It was 13 deg in Waco, Texas where we live most of the year so that is not going to be any advantage.
Well in Celebration of this Holiday, here are a few Christmas scenes and cars for you. By the way Patrick, I am a bird watcher and I just love that "Cardinal Car" you displayed. Who made that ?
Here are a couple of shots of Santa working around the Leonardtown and Savannah!
Best wishes and Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays

Happy New Year Boxcar fans. For the first Boxcar Sunday of 2023 a Weaver fantasy scheme MoPar parts car. I grew up in a MoPar household and love the colors and logo.
A few new repaints with detail modifications I finished recently…
This is a stock paint MTH reefer I added details to and did a light wash for some weathering…

Tom once again Great Job! Mark
Well HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone, its the very first Box Car Sunday of 2023!! @Dave Ripp.- Great boxcar and thanks for getting us going and keeping the thread up @leapinlarry- Great cars and those fellows siting inside look like they are getting comfortable for the long haul @Krieglok - super workmanship as always, these latest ones, especially those that are more or less yellow appear to be of an older vintage, perhaps 19th century? Anyway they are really super Tom thanks for posting. @das boot - Man, not sure where you get your inspiration but that is one crazy car. Loved seeing it!
Well I guess I have to move on and make some sort of contribution. I will be "off line" for a couple of days as we travel home to Texas starting at (Way too early!!) tomorrow. So here are a couple from the archives.
Well leapinlarry looks like you don't have the only "accomodation" for those "Knights of the Road" Here is the Marx Joy Line locomotive and "Hobo Rest" box car from about 1934.
Here is our local industry (Door and Sash) getting a new drill press to start the new year. Railway Express is handling the final deliver from the Leonardtown and Savannah unloading point to the front door of the factory. The foreman, in the cowboy hat, is waiting to give final instructions to the fork lift operator for the transfer. The delivery is from a relatively modern Maryland and Pennsylvania (MPA) box car,
Well that's it for today fellows. Thanks for all the great posts last year and looking forward to 2023.
Best Wishes
Don

My maxim for toy trains, "if Lionel and MTH do not manufacture what you want, then create it yourself."
This is my first Groucho design, have two more brewing on my mental drawing board. On a limited basis, I do custom one-of-kind train cars for others.
Here are boxcars for this fine first day of the year! Happy New Year everyone!!
