Also, does the 5 car set have the illustrated vista dome car? How about some photos of the whole train please?
Sam good observation, BUT!
B&O's "The Columbian" is a very special consist to eastern railroading. Which I will hit on when I post Friday or Saturday.
But in this case MTH made these sets (the 5-car and 2-car add-on) prototypically correct. As stated "The Columbian" is special to the B&O and eastern railroading.
"The Columbian" inaugurated May, 1949. The two complete consist built by Pullman-Standard had silver (aluminum) painted trucks and a gold bottom stripe. Have gleamed this from pictures in my small (only 12-volumes) library. A picture of the "Pittsburgh" included this in-part in the caption "... the trucks are no longer in silver (aluminum) , still ... ."
MTH also made the dome correct, low profile with flat glass window (no distortion).
Unfortunately have no trackage. That dream has most probably vanished. Was intending to lay some track on the hardwood (hardwood central) this Tuesday when the lady of the house was at the hair dresser. But my lead Oncologist has scheduled me to meet (consult) with another new Specialist (number 6 on team) tomorrow.
Ron,
Those are really nice cars! Thank you for the prototype information.
I'm sorry you are having health issues!!
