Compatibility? Atlas 6924 and DZ1000?

I am in the process of replacing some Atlas smaller switches with Atlas O72/54 curved switches, O72's and #5's. Of course, I am experiencing connectivity issues with some of my MTH locomotives and the longer Atlas switches. I am going to wire the closure rails but I would like to retain use of my DZ 1000 switches machines because I like the way the operate.

Is wiring the Atlas 6924 for connectivity and for non derail possible with the DZ1000? I have the Atlas #57 controllers and the DZ controllers or should I replace the DZ's with all Atlas for compatibility and simplicity?

A search for information was not successful so I posted here in hopes of an answer or the direction I should take while hopefully avoiding arguments for or against DZ or Atlas.

The Atlas #57 controllers are a momentary switch just like the DZ-1000 controller is. So everything should be OK. Wire the jumpers to the switch as John has suggested and then use this diagram to wire for non derailing. Substitute the #57 for the dz controller shown.

Not quite that simple.

The Atlas #57 has its LEDS wired such that their cathodes are connected to common and the throw switch has auxiliary contacts that light the red or green ones INDEPENDENT of what the DZ1000 "says".
