I know there are many articles about phasing transformers. They seem to point to variable output transformers. I want to connect the common of a 180 brick and the Z-4000 together. TheZ-4000 is for track power and the brick for everything else. What is the best procedure to making sure they are in phase before I connect the commons?
Can I make the joining connections at the common on a terminal block being fed by the dcs and the common on the terminal block being fed by the brick?

I would assume its the same test as you would use on ZW's. With today's standards they are most likely phased.
Bryant I did that with the club's Z4000 and bricks. I found that they were out of phase, so I had to reverse one to be in phase. The funny thing was that the Z500 set up I had was in phase with the brick.
I will do it. Seems like a no brainer to make sure and check. Even though the equipment is new I will follow the advise of Ronald Reagan "Trust, but verify".
