Ran across a frustrating problem today Legacy diesels.  We had a 2-unit MU lashup (Train 2) running yesterday and before closing up I cleared the Train configuration.  Today, one of the engines ran fine as an individual unit, but the second engine would not move.  Sounds and other attributes worked as expected but no motion.  On the CAB2, the target speed could be changed but there was no grey bar following.  A repeat of clearing the Train did not work.  After trying engine reset with no joy, I removed and replaced batteries on the CAB2 but that didn't fix the problem.  Finally I reset (power off) the Legacy Base and the engine was now fully operational.

I had assumed that the CAB2 had all the logic for speed control but this scenario shows that the Command Base will block individual engine speed commands if it believes the engine is part of a Train.

Has anyone else seen this, or similar behavior?

John

I've found a couple of times that I had to use the LSU from the computer to completely clear out a locomotive's configuration before it would work properly again.  For a spell I couldn't use TMCC ID #2 for anything as it wouldn't work.  I'd look with the remote and it was all cleared and appeared fine.  It wasn't until I used the LSU to clear the entry that suddenly TMCC ID #2 was usable again.
