I would like to use the Lionel FasTrack Uncoupling Track (6-12020 in a DCS environment. The Uncoupling Track manual tells me to set the voltage to 10 to 12 volts, either by setting the track power to 10 - 12 volts or by setting accessory power to 10 - 12 volts. The DCS track output is 18 volts. Will I do damage by using the 18 volt track power? This is on a modular layout, and I want to keep things as simple as possible.

Use separate power to energize the magnet, it creates some dandy transients if you use track power! Don't your modular wiring standards have an aux or accessories supply?
Actually this is for a stand-alone Timesaver type layout for our modular club.
But since you asked, we don't have a aux power standard. Any suggestions for specifications? Would one run off the aux port of a Z-1000 work?
I'd run 12VAC around.
Make a voltage dropping diode string with track power as the source.
Good idea Jim, that will work. However, you'll still be pulling the current from the track supply, which has caused me issues with command in the past.
