Sound question

Is the #99 Locomotive are you referring to the Lionel 84809 Steam 0-8-0 Unlettered Lionchief?

For the sound module, we would need more info on that also to answer your question.

I think the one I bought was from member paperw . He always has sound things for sale on the forum. The one I bought for the beeps was 6 or 7 yrs. ago

Does the sound board have some identifying info, if not maybe post some pics of each side of the board?

I'm sure any sound board you bought separately will not work with the LC remote if that's what you're asking.  The sound for LC is built-in to the main board on the locomotive.  Obviously, it helps a great deal to have the actual product number of the engine when we're having discussions like this.

Actually I was looking for a sound module that I could use in a dedicated box car much like the one I used to give sound to the beeps a few years ago even if I had to use a on switch on the box car to use with the lion chief. I am not smart enough to open up the engine and tinker around. I am totally satisfied with the engine as it is.
