Very nice Bryan! That sure is a great idea! I hope you don't mind if I give it a try down the road!

Of course not we all borrow from others sometimes on our layouts.
Before and after. Made up some led boards to convert a Williams 4pack CB&Q Blackhawk set to led. Dang, those chassis were hard to slide out and back for the conversion. Did I use the wrong method? Side frames were very tight against the shells. Oh well, here’s some pics.

Looks good Ted! No more flicker!!!!! Today I cleaned up the mess I made working on the drywall. Then I made me some connectors to connect my CW80s back to the layout with common ground and unhook those DC wall warts!! Per the advice of Dave Olson. Smoke units cheered and huffed 100% better! Ran the Wabash Cannonball for a good while, first time in a long time! So I got out most of my other LC engines and gave them a run also. Not much more to do until I get that order of track from Mario. Thinking about riding down to Home Depot and getting a rolling toolbox to go under the layout.

Jim is right! Looks good Ted, nice job, well done!

Ted- the LED's look great. I would miss the flicker though
Bryan- the planters are awesome!
Paul2- Slow and steady wins the race. The buildings look great!
Brian- do we need to call the fire department?
Dragged an old RS-3 shell out of the junk bin and did a bit of test fitting with some scrap brass L from my 3424 brakeman car FastTrack experiments...
Conceptually, this just might work!

Between bouts of shoveling snow today, I put together a River Leaf Models Chicago style roof water tower. Pretty east but a bit tedious.

Hmm. I'd think it'd look better in place of the fan housing at the end of the shell...
And that, in fact, is what GE wound up doing on the prototype. However, what I'm going for is a hybrid a'la the FL9 and Sprinter locos, so that the switcher can use either diesel or overhead power.

Yes, I'm getting tired of this snow, and I'm sure we haven't had as much as you. I saw the roof water tower kit advertised. It will look great!

I agree with Dave!! I see the yellow fungus (or punk as we call it around here). What a great addition! Is the tan object to the right a rabbit? I'm sure if I was looking in person, there would be no question what it is.

I don't think he will be able to respond, Mike. He is recuperating at the local hospital from smoke inhalation!!

That Lake Erie and Roberts Bay was real? The only Roberts Bay I know is in Africa, I figured it was a joke.

That's actually a plant of wildflowers, that was there before I put the stump in. As for what's next to it, yes, that is a bunny rabbit.
Bears and deer have been hunted out of the area during the Great Depression, so the only thing left was small little critters like this. I have several rabbits, squirrels, and raccoon scattered around the layout.
Thank you Lee! Wildflowers, yes I see indeed! Sorry I mistook them.

OH THE HUMANITY!!!!
Arnold,
**** good idea. Looks good. Where did you get bunnies, squirrels, and racoons? I will try to order some. My wife will love it.

Took care of a few things today. The new B&O Tank I just got had a squealing smoke fan. I took the shell off and lubricated the fan. All better now. Not quite smoking out the place like Brian but its running well now.
Finally put up some shelves to store the engines I'm not running. I've got some breathing room on the tracks now. Put all my diesels up and running steamers only for a while.
I've got a few more of these shelves so no worries about where to put more

Nice looking shelves Jim! But if you run out of room, just send the ones you don't have room for to my house! I will give you my address! LOL
LOL Mike. No worries....I'm hoping to catch Brian one day
Nice shelves and good group of diesels. I’ll not ask for extras! LOL
Catch Brian?? He has a bit of a head start! LOL
Yea I know Mark, but gotta have goals in life. Why not "Amass the largest collection of O gauge locomotives in the world"
The shelves were in our Den when we bought the house. We took them down and saved them. Hard to find 3/4" solid pine shelves these days.

That’s a respectable goal!
Lee- the bunny is a nice touch. Love the tree stumps.

Not much layout work but I did run trains for about an hour with my 5 year old grandson. That makes up for not doing what I planned in spades.

Mitch;
Possibly some bad news... the RSD-4 has a protrusion where you plan on putting your pan... I'm a poet and didn't know it!!'
