Hi guys.. If you want to use toggle switches on your conventional layout for block control, does it matter if the switches are full size or "Mini-types" .. Mini's are cheaper ! Thanks in advance!

Just make sure they have adequate current capacity, since they have to break the current demands of a short circuit. I have about 70 minis controlling blocks, and have had no problems over the last 20 years.
My "block control" panel uses miniature toggles and #22 gauge wire since they are used with a separate relay panel that actually controls block power to the track. The relays are rated at 15 amps and are wired to the track using #16 gauge wire.
This panel is used along with an MTH DCS AIU control unit that is also used for block control.
My DCS TIU/AIU wiring boards are also shown. All wiring to the AIU terminals is also #22 gauge.
I use SPST, from Radio Shack. Do not know the ratings. I use them to set up blocks for all the main lines and sidings. I only have to use these when I run traditional engines.

The miniature toggle switches that I have seen are rated for 5 amps or less, the standard toggles switches are generally rated for 10 Amps or more based on the switch construction. I am using the miniature toggle switches for tortouse switch motors and standard toggle switches for track connections.
I found a great deal on EBAY and ordered 25 toggle switches like you see in the photo, all of them DPST type.

I have several DPDT center off toggles most have wires soldered on but can easily be removed. I used them for block control for two transformers. $1.50 each plus shipping

Pro Hobby..Could you explain your wiring ? I have 2 AIU units and I am trying to set it up using Command Control of the switches with WIFI. I can switch to a design like yours only I need to understand the electrical part. I am a former "pencil pusher" not an electrician.
Thanks
