Maybe some of the folks that have the manufacturer's ears can solicit them to make some prototypical stuff for these obscure RRs.

Even better, they ought to take one entire years worth of production and devote it to ANYTHING (heck, let's say southern RRs for starters) but the "Big Five", but I doubt that the "SBFF" (Slobbering Big Five Freaks) could stand to go without a new toy for a year Wink , something us "lesser-knowns" have been doing all our model train lives.

Well Nick, there's no accounting for taste, I have several scale GG1's and my 2 PC's are my favorites. I think they are stunners.

Penn Central fits my era (railroads from my childhood in the 1970's, so I'm always on the lookout for scale PC items.

Not ignored, but as an under represented railroad, I would throw out the Baltimore & Ohio (B&O). It's disappointing that neither Lionel or MTH really seem much interested in the smaller, scale sized, B&O steam locomotives.

As an example, I was really excited to hear that Lionel was offering conventional Atlantics in the Volume 1 catalog, only to find out the B&O was not one of the roadnames offered.

I don't thik that B&O belongs this list now. Yes, it has been disappointing the between Lionel and MTH we have only been offered one run of the fabulous EM-1 (LIONEL). But 3rd Rail has been very kind to B&O modelers and I look forward to the fall release of the class T-3 Mountain.

This model will fit in nicely with my:

3rd Rail EM-1 2-8-8-4;
3rd Rail Big Six (Santa Fe type) 2-10-2;
3rd Rail class Q-4b mikado;
3rd Rail class E-24 consolidation;
K-Line class Q-3 USRA light mikado;
K-Line class P-5 USRA light Pacific;
Weaver class P-7d Cincinnatian Pacific;
Lionel class EM-1 2-8-8-4.

Sunset/3rd Rail has produced the following CB&Q steam locomotives:

1) 4-8-4 O5 class in three road numbers 5614, 5629, & 5632. (I have 5614 and 5632)
2) 2-10-4 M4A in at least two different versions, one with the Elesco Feedwater system and the other with the Worthington BL Feedwater system (I have both).
3) 4-6-4 S3 and S4A Hudsons in a number of different versions and road numbers (I have two, 3007 and 4001)

I believe their next CB&Q project will be either 2-8-2 or 2-10-2 models.

I would be in for an O1a Mikado, either 4960 or 4963.

Add to the Q list the USRA 0-6-0 from Atlas O, plus the 0-8-0 from MTH.
I'll second the Central Vermont. I would also argue for the Bangor and Aroostook. Thanks to Atlas O and MTH (and also Weaver), we have some diesels, but I would like to see some more rolling stock for both the CV and BAR. IMO, the BAR "State of Maine" cars have been done to death.

I would like to see some standard SCALE boxcars for both the CV and BAR and pulpwood bulkhead flats and wood chip cars for the BAR.

Did you mean the Monongahela RailWAY (MGA) or did you mean the Monongahela Connecting Railroad (MCRR)?

Here’s a link to a photo of an O gauge car in my collection made by Kris Model Trains in the 1970’s lettered for the Monongahela Railway (and complete with graffiti):

I also have a gondola from Kris lettered for the Union RR and one for the B&LE plus a P&WV Kris box car. Photos of these can be found on that same site.

I have never seen anything in O gauge lettered for the MCRR.

K Line did a P5A pacific but I missed it. MTH did a Santa Fe Northern lettered for ACL. Wrong prototype. Nothing since then worth mentioning. Southern F units in green and white tuxedo, not the Pelican scheme. At least WBB finally did F3's tuxedo in black and white executive set. Second the motion for Norfolk and Portsmouth Belt Line SW1500.

Many of the ACL steam locomotives were modified heavily by them (same on the SAL) that it would be hard for Lionel or MTH to design one that could be used for different roads. The P5A and P5B pacifics could be used for different roads (even the Lionel PS-4 version could be used for different roads in the south). I would hope someone would make a true ACL (or RF&P) R-1 4-8-4, if they could figure out the correct boiler color (check with the ACL-SAL HS about this debate!)

As for the Southern F units, I am really, really hoping MTH will come out with the green freight version since they have now made 3 versions of the Sou F7 - early black scheme (1949 era), later black scheme (1959 - 1974) and the NS executive units (DAP). Only time will tell.

Maybe not THE most ignored road name but ONE OF the most ignored is Chicago Great Western (CGW). This was a good-sized class 1 railroad that never really modernized past the 1950's before it merged with the C&NW in 1968. When other RRs already had plenty of second-generation diesels, the CGW was still using F units. There has been very little CGW stuff produced in O gauge, or any other scale for that matter. I have a CGW tank car made by K-Line in the 80's, maybe a few other cars have been put out as well. A CGW F unit A-A or A-B-A set with the red paint job and "Lucky Strike" logo with a matching caboose would look nice on anybody's layout, even if they weren't a CGW fan.

I would but any CGW engine. Would love to see a CGW 2-10-2 or 2-10-4 steam engine.
