At the time of the A2’s, the P&LE was still an adopted child of the NYC, thus, they all wore “ New York Central Systems “ ….had the A2 come before the change of Railroad Roman to Railroad Gothic, they might have worn “ New York Central Lines”

Well, being from the Pittsburgh area, it would be great to see these in P&LE paint. Lionel is good with fantasy schemes, and P&LE could sit right along side the NYC paint. Those might be one of the few steam I would seriously consider buying.

I have already said I want to see a new Siemens Charger (this would make a great Vision Line loco), but I have still been thinking about this, and here are some other thoughts.

Modern passenger cars would be nice. Reasonably priced Amfleet cars or Superliners. Viewliners would be awesome, though that would definitely require new tooling.

Another thought would be a Lionel made 5-car articulated deep well intermodal set. I think with as much intermodal traffic that flows through this country, this form of car is still greatly underrepresented.

Concerning  "modern passenger cars," Lionel should be announcing uncatalogued Amtrak diesels, passenger cars and sets at York. As far as pricing, one can always dream.

I gotcha one better than that Skip,…let’s hope they get the Dreyfuss tools, …..with the PT tender having the water scoop effect,…..😳😳😳……imagine that pulling the limited ……ooooohhh,…and roller rod bearings,….😁😁😁

Funny, I was just talking about acquired MTH Toolings on another thread about Vision Line engines, what would be the next one to come out. On that one I said how the VL projects are years in the making, about 5 or so depending on what the project is. See if there is one VL engine in the next catalog or not.

Now, about Dreyfuss Hudson's, oh yeah, they had to have gotten a hold of that tooling, unless it was not for sale. I am really hoping that yes indeed it is part of the purchase of toolings, along with some other engines that have ever been produced once, or not at all. Sounds like I am talking about the other two of the big three engines, the PRR T1 and the N&W Class A, and yeah, that is exactly what I am talking about.

Legacy P&LE A2 Berkshire from MTH tooling.

With you here too Skip.

The die-cast metal three-bay, open-top hoppers need to be made out of lighter aluminum, so they can be placed anywhere in the train without having couplers in front of the hoppers being stretched and popped open from the weight.

The O scale die-cast aluminum three-bay open-top hoppers need to be produced in schemes for the

Lionel is due for a new Torpedo based on the new Baby K4 chassis with LionChief Plus 2.0.  Also, I would like to see a new North Pole Express Streamliner with an FT diesel.

I would like to see a NYC Mercury Set and a new City Series…

City of LosAngeles,

City of Denver

City of New Orleans

All using the same passenger car models from their Super Chief set.  Those passenger cars have been around since 2000. I have several roadname sets. They will work on any layout and look great.

I have already said I want to see a new Siemens Charger (this would make a great Vision Line loco), but I have still been thinking about this, and here are some other thoughts.

Golden Gate Depot is doing Superliners and a second run of Viewliners and Amfleets. Not everyone considers them reasonably priced, but a lot of the market share has been fulfilled by them.

Atlas has 3 car articulated well cars but they're 53'. A 40' set would be nice though.

Good suggestion for the Amtrak cars. I have seen the Golden Gate Depot site and I am sure the cars will look great. I am hoping that whomever has their hands on the MTH Superliner tooling would produce a new run. While maybe not as detailed as the GGD models, I feel that the prices ( even with Lionel’s markup) would be more reasonable for a broader range of consumers. And competition is always good.

Based on some comments made in the last Lionel YouTube presentation for the latest catalog, Siemens engines and Superliners could possibly be forthcoming.  Maybe I am reading too much into the statements that Ryan made.

I agree, 40’ articulated deep well cars would be great. I would buy any Atlas cars if they offered them again. Maybe it is me and the more modern era I model, but intermodal cars just seem underrepresented compared to their use in the real world.

It is strange the people at LIONEL did not choose to have the Gunderson/Greenbrier MAXI-STACK five-unit car with 40' wells produced as an O scale model in the past 20 years.

Andrew

These five-car units are something I have been waiting for and wanting to see produced for a longtime! A bit jealous when I see a new N or HO scale version of them released.

Some already produced traditional cars and accessories lettered for the Boston and Albany and AEC, like a crane car or gantry crane.  Maybe something that actually ran at Hanford, like a GP-7 or RS-1 in Hanford Works orange or DOE white, and a four pack of depressed center cask cars. Some of Lionel's already produced steam in Boston and Albany versions, like an F-12e or Mikado.   For something new, a 2-6-6-2 in B&A and NYC versions.   Maybe an O gauge HH600, like many of us hoped Atlas would come out with years ago.  More New England region equipment in 1920's-WW2 Era paint and lettering.  I think we've have our share of McGinnis colors and NYC Jade green.

I love running  a long string of Lionel’s 86 ft box cars on our club’s layout I really wish Lionel would offer some 86 ft box cars with sound The existing sound cars just look so small riding in between the 86  ft cars  The cars could even have two speakers

Just take the guts out of the PS-1 and add them to one of the 86's...don't forget to switch out the truck with the sensor on it as well.  As far as adding an additional speaker, that would require knowledge of the current speaker impedance, etc...

Anthony

The F3 and the FT diesel locomotives are not interchangeable.

The FT were sold in A-B units only

The F3 were available as individual A units and B units.

Somebody has to choose one or the other and not mix-up the concepts.

Andrew

Some railroads (like Santa Fe) ordered couplers between the FTA and B units.  Great Northern ordered ABA sets of FTs.

Lionel's been selling LionChief passenger sets with only an FTA unit for years.

A rerelease of the FEF-3 but hopefully this time in a greyhound/ two-tone grey but with silver striping would be cool or a rerelease of the Legacy Allegheny.

I'd say too soon for the FEF-3's, give that maybe another two cycles of the catalog. Allegheny would be coming next year I would imagine most likely the following catalog to the January release or the following January of 2023. I would believe that it is possible that the Y6's will show up in 2023 or even sooner. I think the last offering of that was 2016.

If the Y6's show up, it is very possible that the FEF-3'S will be right around the corner as well. Regardless, I think that the Allegheny's would show up first out of those 3.

more New Hope and Ivyland stuff

more strasburg stuff

i just hope i get to see the catalog because if my doctor finds colon cancer i may have to go back with my dad and stepmother which means i will lose everything and my train hobby and access to anything that is a special interest will be over. in fact its like punishment for something i have no control over. it seems like i have all the symptoms anyway. i see my doctor in the friday after next friday

I have moved from Postwar traditional sized trains to scales sized trains and I would like to see more PS-1 boxcars, PS-2 hoppers, 100 ton coal hoppers, PS-5 gondolas, PS-4 flatcars as well as Legacy diesels that can run on O-36 track.  In addition to prototypical road names I would like to see non-prototype road names available as well. I would not mind to see "Lionel Lines" versions of these scale cars as well as Lionel Lines scale legacy diesel locomotives.

I mean, doesn't everyone want an orange and blue Lionel Lines SD70ace?
